Hello everyone, I ve used qtr with carbon based inks in the past for quite awhile but having some problems now. I had two different Epson 7800 s fail on me

Perhaps I should have started there. I have now created what I atleast think is a curve that is good enough. The stepwedge was printed via print tool, and was

Since you re on OS X 10.10, you should be printing to QTR from Roy s Print Tool, rather than directly from PS. Since 10.6.8 there are colour management issues

If you want to make curves, have exact control etc. PS CS6 will not be good enough. Lack of NoCM (Printer manges color does not do what you probably expect)

Yes, that should work. I checked the text file of my profile and the relevant parts are: GRAY_INK_1=M GRAY_VAL_1=100 BOOST_K=45

I m on a Mac so I edit the txt files directly. So you re saying that any color with GRAY_VAL _n=100 automatically adopts BOOST_K= as if it were also black.
2016-02-24 by mccarvill@...
Hi Peter, If you set M’s density to = 100, QTR will interpret M as the new black, and the black boost will then apply to M. See attached link for how I do
