I have actually done the opposite: changed some Serge modules' jacks from banana to 1/8-in., to simplfy interaction between them and the Buchla. Examples: Wave Multiplier, Triple Waveshaper, ring modulator, comparators. The results are superb...

Reading the website description, clearly a ring modulator is a subset of a balanced modulator's range. Allen Strange discusses it in the context of Audio Rate AM and the original 285 module. "Most balanced modulators must have a manual and/or voltage controlled "modulation" index

AFAIK a ring modulator the simple passive circuit with a ring of diodes and transformers and a balanced modulator is an active circuit producing the same result at a far better signal to noise ratio often referred to as a ring modulator as well. The effect is the same in both cas

Looking at the 210 I am wondering what you get from the CV outputs if you gang/mix/scale a bunch of CV inputs; site says they are "OR'd" and assumption is that the one with the highest voltage is sent but if they are all fluctuating/changing do they jumpa around at the output? As
