You are right. Vivid will not work using ABW in the 3800. Nor will Cone Color (K3 or Vivid K3) work with ABW. ABW is tuned very specifically to epson ink

I ve use the vivid CC inks in a 9600 no problem. There is no reason in my mind why it wouldn t work in the 3800. You re paying 30% of the cost of Epson inks.
