For many of us, panel space in our racks is an issue. I already have a drawer filled with unused modules removed to make room. A dedicated module to convert sines (when the VCO already has "Sine" output) doesn't make much sense and probably not worth the additional panel space. M

I don't think I can be considered an 'old timer' but I am certainly not a newcomer :). I have 7 different filter across 3 different formats. In Eurorack I have the a-105 lowpass which I really like and is very close to perfect for what I want in a lowpass filter. I also have the

You have a small point there. It is pretty clinical, yes. But he does introduce the same source material to all the filters, which could be a nice way to compare. It is at least the most unbiased filter comparison I've seen. On Thu, Dec 4, 2008 at 11:22 AM, Argitoth wrote: > crap

No, what really would help Carlos out is an answer to his question. Both the Wasp-Filter and the SEM-Filter share the same controls, as stated on the Doepfer website. As is stated there as well, sonically both filters are miles apart. So Carlos, can you perhaps tell us whether yo

[Doepfer_a100] request: A126 freq shifter SIN/COS in expander module?

Hi, It seems this has been done already as custom for one/some(?) but I would love to see a simple 4hp expander with sine and cosine input so you can connect any quadrature module to the a126. Perhaps this will be built in on the future module but it would be a nice expander for

A-106-5? I used to have an A-106-5 but got rid of it. You could get an overdriven sound out of it, it can't self oscillate, but the sound it had just wasn't worth keeping IMO. Lets get some audio demos of the A-106-5 and Wasp Filter, that would really help Carlos out. On Wed, Dec

I think the A-106-1 makes a really nice bandpass/notch/highpass filter, but it won't do you any good as a soft lowpass filter because it can only sound overdriven, bubbly, and screamy. I was looking to maybe get a wasp filter too, but I want to hear an audio demo first. Here's an

Something I don't see on the market that I'd be happy to pick up would be a CV controllable Solina style "ensemble" module. I'd also like an add-on companion for the existing BBD modules consisting of a compander and a steep lower cost LP filter to give the option of an improved

I'm not trying to be rude; I just don't see an upgrade of the Doepfer oscillators to be necessary or worth it. I'm not against sine waves; they're great. But there are a few things I don't understand. I'm just curious... 1. Why doesn't a filter count as a "nonlinear wave shaper"?
