Hi James, It isn't possible to address/format more than 4.095 gigabytes on a MFX-2. It would take a rewrite of the software which I cannot see happening in the forseeable future :-) By the way where are you located ? I am trying to contact more Fairlight users in the London area.

As os9/mdrdos doesn' t recognize more than 4gb hard disk, I would like to know how you succeed to get 9gb ? I' ve two 9gb hard disk in my MFX2 but they are limited to 4gb. Further my turbo scsi card and my cmi41 come from a MFX3, so I' ve more than the lastest specs a normal MFX2

Hi David, You need to include the weight of flightcases as well, you should not ship a fairlight without flightcases unless you have a big car and go to the UK by boat. SKB cases work very well for the keyboard. Off the top of my hat I recall it to be around 35 Kg for the keyboar

The last IIx i saw for sale did have smpte/midi and it sold for a little over USD6000. So I think GBP1830 (USD3450) is quite reasonable and woouldn't be surprised to see it go a little higher. I would check with Peter Wielk in Sydney to see if he still has the parts for the midi
