Ron, Cubase SX only syncs to MTC - it will NOT sync to midi clock. I think this is the big issue as most hardware sequencers send midi clock only and not MTC.

I just can t believe one of the big three (two? four?) sequencers can t do the simple task we are asking it to. I am going to investigate again tonight.

i suppose the only solution would be to get a device that converts midi clock to midi time code. i wonder if those JL Cooper boxes would do that somehow...

I found this kind of interesting. At least it confirms what we thought: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jun04/articles/cubasenotes.htm

I love the fact that live has no problems being sync d externally. I am in the throes of a dilemma between using sx or live -- i love live because it can sync

For me the tightest way was to make both Live and the Evolver slaves to my Machinedrum. Perhaps it will work well just having Live as slave to the Evolver as

i had the same problem you described -- i ended up setting the clock to internal (reading the same tempo as in live) and then restarting the seq. each bar/each

... All a bit silly given that the guy who designed the Evolver has said it s absolutely fine to use headphones on the outputs (and even recommends doing so).

I m not sure but I guess he s refering to the law V=R.I . V is the voltage issued by the evolver. If R (impedance of the headphone) is decreasing towards 0, I
