Hey there- most likely is a connection problem. Reseat the display perhaps, or resolder the pins on the LCD board.... another possibility is the LCD controller

It sounds like oxidized contacts. Pull ribbon cables and clean. If you can pull I.C s at the lcd inverter and clean them, it might help. Peace, Jesse
