... Hi!! I suggest you edit copies of the original pattern. Start playing with the original, copy and switch to the copy, edit, then go back to the first one.

... this is correct. *pattern* changes are all live and permanent. there s no notion of a temporary unsaved pattern. just like using a 808/909/606, IIRC.
