SCSI isn t required to operate the unit. A SCSI capable OS will still boot a unit with SCSI from floppy if a HD is not attached, as long as the PAL is there.

sounds like you got a dud floppy drive and a bad scsi drive as the person who owned it before if there was a scsi drive would of definetly put the os on it

HD OS 1.1 expects you have SCSI. Usually if you have a wrong OS you will get Wrong Software Rev or similar. If you have SCSI you could use HD OS 1.1 or PLUS

They are setup completely for tour use. Some sounds transpose over only a couple of keys, others an octave or two.

You can do it with a SCSI drive that is at ID0. But in the event you have a problem with the external drive, you could get stuck. My recommendation is slim
