SCSI isn t required to operate the unit. A SCSI capable OS will still boot a unit with SCSI from floppy if a HD is not attached, as long as the PAL is there.

sounds like you got a dud floppy drive and a bad scsi drive as the person who owned it before if there was a scsi drive would of definetly put the os on it
