Jerry, With the UT inkset, you should stick with the 1280 driver. I have not written 1290 UT curves. I recommend 1290 owners use the 1280 driver and curves

Steve, I am quickly finding CS to be a very worthwhile upgrade from PS 7. The only downside I ve seen is working in high-bit mode...the files get quite large.

They are not newton s rings, I know what they look like, and this is definitely banding. Also, keep in mind that this is a 20K scanner, not a consumer item.
