I think film is and a good scanner is the key. Expose for the shadows and develop for the highlights. There is no counterpart for this with a digital camera.

It s mostly coming up short in the transition from highlight to shadow. The gradation (hoping that s the right term) is VERY harsh on almost all of my shots.
